When I look back at 2017, I am happy with the progress we have made through the year as a team. I experienced a new working environment this year. I experienced working in close, small groups and saw how much more is achieved in working this way. It is fantastic to see the entire team working in small groups and then we combine what we all put together to achieve bigger goals — it’s like putting together the pieces of a puzzle. I’m also very happy about welcoming two new people to our German design team. With the help of Marius, our expert on presentations and animation design, and Moritz, the print design “pro,” we were able to realize so many projects helping UIB throughout the world in various projects. 2017’s most memorable moment for me was when our interactive demo website, demo.unifiedinbox.com, won the Webby Award for “Website Features and Design.” Moving into 2018, I look forward to many exciting projects, especially our UnificationEngine™ Dashboard, which allows us and manufacturers to fully control the way IoT devices talk to us. Websites, die nicht nur richtig cool aussehen, sondern auch schnell sind und top Performance liefern - das haben wir uns als Team zur Aufgabe gemacht. Aber was heißt das eigentlich und wie geht das? Klassische Websites werden bei jedem Besuch eines Users (der Run Time) neu gebaut, indem für einzelne Elemente Anfragen an einen Server geschickt werden. Das Warten auf die Antwort des Servers verzögert die Ladezeit der Website. Jamstack Websites dagegen werden vorab gebaut und zur Run Time in Form einer statischen Website über ein CDN (Content Delivery Network) ausgeliefert. Schnelle Websites wirken nicht nur moderner und sind leichter zu bedienen, durch kaum wahrnehmbare Ladezeiten verbessert sich auch die User Experience. Auch die Chance auf eine höhere Conversion Rate besteht, denn je schneller die Seite, desto seltener springen Besucher wieder ab. Da die Geschwindigkeit einer Website auch seit 2021 ein Rankingfaktor in Google ist, verbessert sich mit einer JamStack Website auch das SEO-Ranking deiner Seite.
