Top UIB moment in 2017

Meeting the team in person

Joining the UIB team in late October, I had numerous memorable moments with the team over the last two months in 2017. However, my highlight during this period has to be the Group Sales meeting in late November where the key executives and other team members presently focused on driving revenue for UIB gathered in Dubai for a four-day sales-focused meeting.

I was immediately impressed by three characteristics that were consistently exhibited by everyone in attendance:

  1. Enthusiasm and 100% belief in the need for the solution, the UnificationEngine™ (UE) intelligent IoT messaging platform.
  2. Commitment to making UE extremely robust via shared learning from our sales activities.
  3. Flexibility via everyone's willingness to go beyond their "job description" to contribute to the overall success of UIB.

In that meetings, I could see how strong beliefs, flexibility, and commitment in a group of intelligent individuals can make an excellent team for any endeavor. Additionally, I was aware of the UIB team’s diversity before joining UIB and was already working with them (virtually, with those from outside the UAE), but by having the sales team together in one place I saw first-hand the extent to which UIB’s team is diverse and unique.

Walking away from the meetings, I felt proud of the team I had just joined and I felt assured of our ability to succeed.

I look forward to working with the UIB team in 2018 and know there will be many great success stories to share in 2018!
